About
I’m Sylvia Vervest, a street and urban photographer based in The Netherlands. I love the flow of Towns and cities. The way light weaves through buildings, the energy of the movement, the quiet, overlooked moments that hold a sense of anticipation.

I don’t walk with a plan. Instead, I let instinct and the atmosphere of the streets guide me. Cities and Towns are full of fleeting stories, and I aim to capture the ones that often go unnoticed.

I shoot with a fixed-lens camera, which forces me to slow down and think carefully about every shot. Without the option to zoom, I’m compelled to physically engage with the scene, moving and finding the right angle, waiting for that moment to fall into place to take a shot. This limitation has become a key part of my creative process, to observe, and to trust my vision.
My goal is to create images that are honest, quiet, thoughtful, and full of life.
